Epidaurus

Epidaurus, located in the northeastern part of the Peloponnese peninsula in Greece, is famous for its ancient theater, which is considered to be one of the most well-preserved in the world. The theater was built in the 4th century BCE and can seat up to 14,000 spectators. The acoustics of the theater are remarkable, and it is said that even those sitting in the highest seats can hear a coin dropped on the stage. The site also includes the Temple of Asclepius, the god of healing, and the Tholos, a circular temple with 34 columns. Visitors can explore the site and learn about the ancient Greeks’ medical practices and beliefs, as well as enjoy performances at the theater during the summer months.
